Schwinn Katana Road Bike Review
I bought Schwinn Katana Road Bike about 4 months ago and have put over 1000 miles on it and used it in several triathlons. This is an absolutely stunning bike. Everything looks great. Very easy to put together with one allen wrench. It rolls smooth, climbs hills easily, and is stable at high speeds (50+mph) After the initial break in period you may want to take it to a bike shop and have it tuned up to keep everything working smoothly. For the money you can’t beat this bike and after a few upgrades it will turn into a real speed machine competitive with bikes costing over $1000 dollars.
Looks like it’s of better quality then my friends Funji and weights pretty much the same. I have had mountain bike all my life and I do have to say riding a road bike is a totally different experience. There are a lot of newer mechanical advances that allows for further upgrades to some of the newest and hottest components on the market. It comes with a 1 1/8″ thread less headset, three piece crank set, rear derailleur hanger and a single bolt seat post. All features are convenient for easy upgrades. Mechanically that bike performs very well.
All the components on Schwinn Katana Road Bike are exactly what you’d expect to get for the price. They’re not the best, but they do what they’re meant to do and they do it well. The bike is very light, a lot lighter than a lot of other new bikes in this price range. Given the opportunity, I’d buy it again in a heartbeat and would recommend it to anyone. If you want a good road bike and are afraid of wasting your money on a bad investment, go with this one, you won’t regret it.
